This picture from 1935 features Shirley's friend, Agnes Gower. At top center is the Stanley house where they operated a general store and lived upstairs. The Alcova River flows over the dam. This place was home to Burl and Willie's family for many years. When Louie retired from the Coast Guard he brought his family here in 1967. The mill was long gone then, and the dam much lower. Burl had started a trailer park in 1958, which Louie took over. This became our home, too. |
